Eid Al Fitr
Eid translates into English as “celebration” and Mubarak means “blessed”. Eid Mubarak can therefore be taken to mean “blessed celebration”.  Muslims greet each other with the phrase twice every year; Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan and during the holy festival of Eid al-Adha.

The festival marks the end of Ramadan and signals the start of Shawwal, the ninth month in the Muslim calendar. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims all over the world and was originated by the Islamic prophet Muhammad and is a time where Muslims give their thanks to Allah and donate money to the poor.

On the day of Eid al-Fitr, Muslims gather in mosques to perform the Eid prayer; Salat, before throwing family celebrations and sharing food with friends. The pictures below depicts the celebration Trini style.
